Talent has a special respect and strong place at Liberation Performing Arts Troupe. The troupe now has 25 artists, all transgender women. The first set of artists who are under training in music, theatre and dance are:
Sowndharya
Sowndharya is a promising human rights actvist. She is an exceptional artist. She is very good at folk dance and bollywood style dance. She has done several stage performances. She is the choreographer for our troupe. She has also finished her training in videoblogging from Women Aloud, Goa. She has learnt to use computers (desktop and laptop). She is a fierce learner. She is hooked to the internet most of her free time and has her own own email address and facebook account. She lives in Korukkupet, Chennai with her aunt. She is also being trained by Kalki to make documentary film on social issues.

Sandhiya
Sandhiya has no formal training in acting or dancing, yet she is so good in mimicry and theater. She would make a great comedy artist. She makes people laugh with her gimmicks. She cooks so well. She lives with her partner is Saidapet, Chennai. She is our promising social worker. Her aim in life is to open a home for abandoned old people on the streets. She is also being trained by Kalki to make documentary film on social issues.
Monal
Monal has been with Sahodari Foundation as an activist for a long time. She is a former beauty pageant winner. But beauty is not her talent, her talent lies in her acting skills. She loves acting and has already acted in minor roles in a couple of Tamil films. She is curious to learn dance, music and theatre. She lives in Chennai and in Coimbatore.
Thayamma
Thayamma is our caretaker of the group. She has a sweet voice and is a good singer. She mothers us all and is the resposible person for each one of us. She monitors right from our musical instruments to our costumes, makeup and food.
Reema
Reema is a Karagattam artist. She is one woman with a difference. She believes education can transform a person's life. She has got a Diploma in computer education and is currently preparing for public service commission exams. She has finished her higher grade in Tamil and English typing. She has worked with NGOs and also worked as a typist with a lawyer in Chennai. A very good learner, Reema is also a computer savvy person.
Anandhi
Anandhi has no formal training in performing arts. Yet, she has got a flair for folk dances. She is good at theater performances especially street theater. Anandhi lives with her mother who has a roadside idly shop in Korukkupet, Chennai. A very religious woman, she has her own small temple near her home.
Sharmila
Sharmila is a graceful folk dancer. She has done many dance performances with Sowndharya. Everytime she is on stage, she forgets herself and is totally immersed in her dance, in her world. She can also dance in bollywood style. She lives in Rayapuram, Chennai with her transgender family.
Abinaya
Abinaya is a classical dancer. She has had formal training in Bharatanatyam. She has done several stage performances. She is also a good mehendi artist. She excels in both dance and acting. A very good theater artist, she lives with her parents in Saidapet, Chennai. Her parents work hard for their livelihood. Abinaya works in a HIV AIDS health project.
Thenmozhi
Thenmozhi has formal training in Thappattam, the folk music of Tamilnadu.She is excellent in acting. She has been a part of the TAI KAVYA dance group for a few years. She is now a part of our troupe. Thenmozhi is always open to learn new talent. She has also acted in minor roles in Tamil films. Thenmozhi lives in Saidapet in a temporary home with other transgender women. Thenmozhi is interested in learning computers and has learned to use Kalki's laptop. She has learned to browse the internet and recently had her own email address in gmail.She is being trained by Kalki to make documentary film on social issues.
Reshma
Reshma is simple, friendly and funny girl. She is a good dancer and a singer too. She specialises in Karagattam, the folk dance of Tamilnadu.She has traveled to many places in Tamilnadu for performing. She lives in Nungambakam, Chennai with other transgender friends.
